David helps business owners and leaders so that they can fully express their vision and enthusiasm while engaging their staff in a more aware and authentic manner. His many years of corporate and small business consulting experience are crucial for decision making and analysis of issues, but when the problem has to do with a leader’s personal blocks, David is also able to bring an insightful and respectful therapeutic approach to help the individual grow beyond those obstacles.
David also works with teams, with a focus on communication and on effective, reality-based systems that enhance engagement and enthusiasm in the workplace. This training and guidance leads to improved morale, appreciation felt between staff members, and a more welcoming and productive work environment. He encourages and helps those in the workplace to “Bring your true self to workTM.”
David’s background includes two main histories operating in parallel. One thread involves thirty-five years providing consulting services for financial and operational systems to organizations ranging from very small companies through organizations such as J.P. Morgan Chase, Citibank, NYU School of Medicine, and Service Corporation International.
The other thread, since 1972 has involved deep practice of Zen Buddhism as well as practicing and teaching Tai Chi Chuan, and the practice of psychotherapy. Together, these bring into play a lifetime of accumulated experience and knowledge. Zen meditation and Tai Chi Chuan emphasize presence, authenticity, and self-knowledge, which are foundational to effective psychotherapy work as well as for finding meaning in life beyond the issues of individual psychology.
In non-organizational work, his specialties include one-to-one and couples therapy, where expanded self-awareness and genuine communication of who they are, allow clients to fully come to terms with and overcome long-held challenges that have held back their happiness and success.
David brings the awareness of existential, psychological, and traditional organizational issues into his services, helping leaders and teams, as well as individuals and couples, find insight and energy that applies to all aspects of life, in order to “Experience a better lifeTM.”
