Back in August of 2019, I was going through what I call a “stormy season”. At that time I wrote the poem “Nature Whispered” to express my feelings, and shared the poem at my 2020 Make It Your Best Year Yet event. Many of the attendees asked for the poem, so here it is:
Nature Whispered
Nature whispered, “Stay still.”
The pain was strong… where did I go wrong?
I thought stormy seasons were over!
Then nature whispered,
“Stay still, claim back your power.
You are that much stronger.
Storms may come, you’ll overcome;
With your power to choose
You have nothing to lose.
Each storm you gain more of you.
There is nothing to stop you.”
Nature whispered, “Stay still.”
I listened.

In stormy times we all want to know our true power so that we can make clear decisions, and heal our wounds.
The first step in tending our wounds is to find a safe container. Our safe containers vary from person to person and situation to situation, and can include, for example, meditating, journaling, being in nature, or sharing with a safe person, or a combination of these.
Once we find our safe container, we can start to process and move forward.
For me, being still in nature connects me to my own natural wisdom.
What is your safe container? Reflect, and visit there periodically, so that you can be there for yourself when you really need it.
